Fishing in Cape Verde provides a major source of food. Here the fishermen are hauling in their nets on the main beach (Bitxe Rotxa) That is the main beach in Porto Inglês (Vila do Maio) on the island of Maio. Fresh fish can usually be bought from the fishermen or are available in local restaurants.
